My name is Josh and my project is on the Arctic wolf.
Growth As young pups, the Arctic Wolves stay in their dens, waiting for the beta female (mother) to gather and bring home some food. As they get older they develop two layers of skin, Padded feet, they start to learn the ways of hunting. Some males break off, to start their own pack, while others join their mother’s pack. When they are older they start to hunt bigger prey like a Deer or a Muskox. Arctic Wolfs can grow up to the weight and length of 125lb and 6 feet.
Reproduce
Like all kinds of wolves only the alpha male and beta female are allowed to mate. This is usually the reason why the younger wolves start their own pack. Wolf pups are born a couple moths after mating. The beta will usually spend hours digging out a den from the ice, if she has too many problems she will usually find a pre-dug den or find a cave. It is important that she has a safe place so the litter of pups(1-5) won't get eaten or attacked.
Food
Like all wolves, they hunt in packs to take down big caribou and muskoxen, they also go after the small
er pray such as arctic hare, seals, ptarmigan,lemmings and waterfowl. to find the prey they travel up to 2,600 km. and fallow there play in the winter.
